Dan returns to farming organic Strawberries

Dan is the new custodian of the NutriFruit organic Strawberry farm in Palmwoods. The 10 Acres of undulating Strawberries have really never looked better. Dan and his family have breathed new life into the farm and are really taking the farming life in their stride. Diversifying into Zucchinis, Blueberries and recovering the Orange trees into production. When it comes to food security and sustainability-a sometimes daunting step in agriculture, is to diversify. Every element that is introduced has different needs and challenges. It's really a decision well thought out, by introducing complementary elements for increasing nutrient cycling, increase seasonal productivity and it may extend the farms yielding period.

Growing up on the land Dan says that once you have farmed the land you're always a farmer, the land calls you back. Dan has been in business here in the Palmwoods - Woombye area for a decade and has been well supported by the community. Giving back to the community through the local Palmwoods Football Club, it really is a great example of how community generosity comes back to you in the form of relationships.
