Stu 'Rocket Man' - Palmwoods

Stu is the quintessential village farmer with a ‘No-dig’ system in which he adds organic matter to create soil and boy, do things grow, they shoot up and stand strong and robust. Abundance is obvious in Stu’s growing season and he’s a lovely man with a huge heart and I’m sure this has a lot to do with his yield.

Stu and Jude started growing Paw Paw over 20 years ago in Palmwoods, after a break Stu now has diversified his production and supplies just to the local marketeers. Stu believes strongly that eating organically grown local fresh fruit and veg is a great step towards a sustainable way of life. Initially Stu and Jude would send their harvests away to Melbourne and Sydney, “There's too much cost in transport fees, packaging and middle men that people can save by buying locally”, says Stu. Saving money, health and the environment - Stu and Jude see an increase in people who appreciate the taste of fresh picked produce once they have tasted the difference!
