Easy Egg Swaps
Hi ,
Quick question for you, why were the eggs running so fast? -- They were afraid of getting beaten!
Ok, maybe the joke wasn't that great but you know what is great? Being able to use eggs even without having eggs. Take a look at this very informative list of egg substitutes you can use whenever you don't have some at home and you want to do some baking.
1. AppleSauce - 1/4 Cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana
2. Aquafaba - 3 Tablespoons, aquafaba (canned chickpea liquid), whisked until frothy
3. Tofu - 1/4 Cup silked tofu, whisked until smooth
4. Flaxseed - 1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed, 3 Tablespoon water, whisked and allowed to thicken for 5 minutes
5. Prune Puree - 1/4 Cup prune puree or apricot puree (or baby food)
6. Pumpkin - 1/4 Cup pumpkin or squash puree
7. Chia Seeds - 1 Tablespoon whole or ground chia seeds + 3 Tablespoons water, stirred together and allowed to get 10 minutes
