From Global Chemist to Green Innovator

Before founding Kin Kin Naturals, Felix worked as a global formulator for OMO, one of the biggest names in mainstream cleaning products.

“I used to work as a global formulator for OMO—yes, with the nasties—but also with the technical expertise on how to make cleaning products that actually work,” Felix shared.

But after moving with Sandy and their family to Kin Kin, a serene town in the Noosa Hinterland surrounded by lush rainforest, pristine Lake Cootharaba, and the Great Sandy National Park, Felix felt inspired to create something closer to his heart: a range of 100% natural, eco-friendly cleaning products.

“It was quite liberating to quit life in the big industry and set up our own little business, with complete freedom to choose our ingredients rather than the ingredients being determined just by cost,” Felix explains.

Building a Natural Cleaning Brand with Integrity

Using his deep knowledge of formulation, Felix began developing products that not only cleaned effectively but were safe for families and the planet. His guiding principle? If he wouldn’t put an ingredient on his children’s skin or ingest it, it wouldn’t go into a Kin Kin Naturals product.

That means you’ll never find SLS, LAS, alcohol ethoxylate, or phosphates in their formulations. Instead, Felix uses simple, often food-grade ingredients like:

Coconut soap
Bicarb soda
Oxygenated soda
Citrate
Pure essential oils

As Felix says:
“It’s a bit of an art to make a fully functional cleaning product. It’s about formulating carefully to obtain the right balance between the types of ingredients.”

From their small factory just 200m from their home in Kin Kin, Felix makes the product batches while Sandy hand-fills each bottle. The result is a small but powerful range that includes:
